Failure mechanism and solution of LED light strip dark zone and color control failure

Summary: LED Light strips are widely used in modern lighting engineering, and their reliability directly affects the lighting effect and user experience.Based on a judicial case of LED strip quality appraisal completed by the author, this article deeply analyzes the causes of the two core faults of dark zone and color control failure through on-site inspection, sampling testing (good sample/failure sample comparison), and failure analysis. The study clearly divides the dark area into external force damage type (through type) and quality defect type (local type), and reveals that the color control failure is mainly caused by the electromagnetic interference (EMI) of the LED strip itself, which is the core mechanism of interference control signal. Based on this, this article proposes systematic improvement plans and technical specifications covering process optimization,component control, electromagnetic compatibility design enhancement, and acceptance standard
upgrades, providing important technical basis for the design, production, acceptance, and fault diagnosis of LED light strips.

Introduction
LED light strips, with their advantages of flexibility,energy saving, and programmability, have become the main force for Landscape Lighting, architectural contouring,and indoor atmosphere creation. However, the frequent 'dark area" (part of the area is not bright or the brightness drops sharply) and "color control failure" (color is not controlled by the program) problems in engineering applications seriously affect the lighting effect and system stability. These problems often involve many factors such as design, manufacturing, installation and environment,and it is difficult to determine responsibility. This article takes the LED strip quality appraisal case commissioned by the court as the research object, based on GB 7000.1-2015[11,GB 7000.9-2008[2],GB/T 17743-2021[3],GB/T 18595-2014[4] standards. Scientific sampling (six good samples/fault samples) and laboratory testing witnessed by four parties (court, appraisal institution, plaintiff,defendant) (Lighting test, mechanical strength,electromagnetic compatibility, circuit dissection analysis)The system analyzes the root cause of the failure and proposes targeted engineering solutions and standardization suggestions.Dark zone failure, cause classification,mechanism and diagnosis
Dark areas are one of the most common faults of LED light strips, manifested as local or continuous areas of the light strip not emitting light. The case analysis shows that the causes can be clearly divided into two categories。
